Interview with Nurse Payne

Nurse PayneAt "KPW: Bays Wrestlefest" in Tauranga on 21st January, KPW fan favourite Nurse Payne will take on a competitor and person in many ways her opposite number, namely Queen Hollie. These two divas have tangled more than once in the square circle, so fans know that there's no love lost in this bitter rivalry. Many ways polar opposite, the sweet, conscientious Nurse Payne is preparing once again to battle the cunning, vain and arrogant Queen Hollie. KPW commentator Blair "the Flair managed to catch up with everybody's favourite care-giver during an uncharacteristic break in her training regimen.

BLAIR "the FLAIR": Nurse Payne, you've faced Queen Hollie more than once before. Do you think you've "got her number" by now?

NURSE PAYNE: Well, that's hard to say with Queen Hollie. She's always got some new way to cheat! Plus, she's now got King Wilba on her side. That's something you've got to keep in mind.

BtF: So you don't trust King Wilba?

NP: I don't trust him at all. Remember he squashed me in that tag team match when he teamed with Queen Hollie against the Brute and I. He doesn't look like much of a king to me!

BtF: So, how have you been preparing for your upcoming match?

NP: There's no secret, really. Training, training and more training. Hard work is the best preparation for any challenge, I think. And I learnt a lot from my match against (Australian veteran) Miss Sara Jay at the last show. I know I didn't win, but I learnt so much! That makes me a better wrestler. Queen Hollie's going to find that out!

BtF: You've seen that Queen Hollie now has King Wilba on her side. You're prepared for him to get involved in the match?

NP: Well, when those two are together, they're pretty much capable of anything! When wrestling Queen Hollie, you've always got to take King Wilba into account.

BtF: And how have you been preparing for that large eventuality?

NP: You have to have eyes in the back of your head! (Laughs) We nurses are very observant people. I'll be ready for him. The show will be in Tauranga, which is a first for KPW. That's neutral territory. Maybe that will make King Wilba think twice about trying to interfere!

BtF: Are you looking forward to wrestling in Tauranga?

NP: It'll be sunny! (Laughs) I'm looking forward to seeing the new KPW fans in Tauranga and putting on the best effort that I can! Most of all, I'm looking forward to seeing what Queen Hollie brings to the match, because I'm ready for her!

BtF: Do you have any message for the Tauranga fans?

NP: Happy New Year! Looking forward to seeing you all at the show on Saturday 21st. Oh, and come down and see the exhibition matches on the Friday afternoon at midday and 2pm at the Carnival. It should be a great way to see the KPW wrestlers in action before the big show on the Saturday evening! Lovely One (the Brute's favourite teddy bear, destroyed by Queen Hollie) is all back together, so maybe he'll make an appearance!
