INTERVIEW WITH "Powerhouse" JADE DIAMOND

Jade Diamond and WhetuRecently at KPW "Fan Appreciation Night", "the Powerhouse" Jade Diamond returned from Australia specially to join forces with his regular tag team partner Whetu the Maori Warrior to take on the nefarious pair of Irishman Mike Ryan and "King" Wilba Force (backed by KPW GM Terry the Golden Greek) in a thrilling hard-hitting encounter that saw the "mighty team" victorious following a mighty melee involving Terry and the mighty team's advisor, Mister Juno Huia.

Before the Powerhouse jetted off to further his international career, KPW interviewer Blair "the Flair" managed to buttonhole the rising superstar about his experiences "over the Ditch" having recently relocated to Australia.

BLAIR "the FLAIR": So, Powerhouse - what brings you back to these fair shores for a guest appearance?

JADE DIAMOND: Well, I heard that my mate Whetu was eager to take on those two clowns ("King" Wilba Force and Irishman Mike Ryan) and I love a good fight, so I hopped on a flight and here I am. was worth it, too. We sent them packing, eh?

BtF: Congratulations on your victory! and how have you found it wrestling in Australia? Was it what you expected?

JD: Yeah, it's pretty much what I expected. More opportunities. That's what I was after.

BtF: How do you find the Australian wrestling fans, compared with the New Zealand wrestling fans?

JD: Oh, the Aussie crowds are harder to engage with.

BtF: Why is that, do you think?

JD: Oh, they've just seen a lot more, so they expect more. They like the flashier stuff.

BtF: And you don't have a problem with giving them that?

JD: Yeah, I don't have a problem with that. I like the high-flying, big impact moves, so it's all good. I'm up to the challenge!

BtF: How do you find that the Australian fans react to you, being from New Zealand?

JD: Oh, right away, they treat you like you're a bad guy. They're all over you. That's just the way it is. I'm actually in a stable with (KPW alumni and ex-KPW champion) Max Damage right now, the New Assassin Squad. It's good. You kind of have to band together, anyway.

BtF: Your primary motivation for relocating to Australia was to find new wrestling oppertunities. Have you been able to have a busier schedule in Australia?

JD: Yeah, I can wrestle at least once a month in Aussie. I've had three matches so far, and I've been winning. Inbetween matches, it's mainly training. I've been lucky enough to train with (Australian wrestler) Mason Childs and I've learnt heaps. I'm greatful for that.

BtF: You're still mainly based around Brisbane?

JD: Yeah, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Like I said, that's where the action is!

BtF: So it's going good?

JD: Yeah, it's going well. I'm involved in this big annual tournament in May that the Australians put on, called "Rise of the Warriors". There's talent from all around Australia that's involved, so it's good to be part of that.

BtF: Any words for the KPW fans?

JD: Yeah, thanks for your support, and keep your eyes on the Powerhouse, 'cause the sky's the limit!
